  • Equibands: An All-Season Core Workout For Your Horse

    December 7, 2024

Core strength is vital to a successful and sound career for your horse no matter your discipline of choice. As we move into the time of year where ice and snow makes hillwork too risky and we have to go looking for other core workouts (or maybe you or your horse doesn't like to leave the arena in the first place), join us for a clinic on using Equibands presented by Sarah DeGrasse.

Horses trucking in for events at TRF must have proof of coggins and rabies vaccine within 12 months and flu-rhino vaccine within 6 months. A limited number of TRF horses will be available to practice with at the clinic if you cannot get your own horse here.

  • De-Mystifying Dressage Scoring and Ride-Review-Ride Day with HHG Dressage

    April 12, 2025

Want to understand dressage scoring better? Want to workshop a test with a real live judge before you take it to a show? Do either or both when you join us in welcoming our friend Heidi Hauri-Gill, a USDF bronze and silver medalist and judge, for a talk walking you through how dressage judging works and what your scores mean, followed by a ride-review-ride clinic where participants from the talk will get admission to the judge’s booth to sit (quietly!) with Heidi to watch tests scored live and hear her feedback to the riders about why various movements got scored the way they did.

Don’t want to workshop a test yourself? You can sign up for the talk and watching tests scored only.

Feel like you have a good handle on how scoring works already? You can sign up just to ride in the ride-review-ride portion of the clinic.

Want to do both? Go for it! You can sign up to attend the talk, watch other riders’ tests scored, AND workshop a test of your own!

Horses trucking in for events at TRF must have proof of coggins and rabies vaccine within 12 months and flu-rhino vaccine within 6 months.

  • Rider Biomechanics

back at some point by popular demand

Join equestrian-focused physical therapist Colleen Wallace for discussion and assessment of rider biomechanics, and come home with exercises to help you in the saddle and improve your own soundness! Details coming soon. Please join us in welcoming equestrian-focused physical therapist Colleen Wallace of Vital Strength Physical Therapy for a rider biomechanics clinic!

The clinic will consist of a modified biomechanics assessment mounted, followed by mounted exercises and reassessment. We will then take a brief break to untack, work on unmounted exercises, and have time for questions. Customized suggestions will be given to each rider and after the clinic some custom exercises dependent on the findings will be emailed. Each rider will receive an exercise manual with pictures and descriptions of each generalized exercise from the clinic and modifications will be provided if a rider is unable to perform the initial exercise. Follow up sessions are available after the clinic depending on rider needs.

Truck-ins are welcome with proof of coggins and rabies vaccine within 12 months and flu-rhino vaccine within 6 months. TRF lesson horses are also available to borrow with priority given to lessees, then current students, then the general public.

Pre-registration with 50% deposit IS REQUIRED for participants per our clinician. Auditors are welcome.
